    With the slogan \u2018ONLY ONE EARTH\u2019, World Environment Day 2022 draws attention to the need to live sustainably, in harmony with nature, through substantial changes encouraged by policies and daily choices which guide us towards cleaner, more ecological lifestyles.<\/p>

    The celebration of this day takes place 50 years after the first United Nations Conference on the Human Environment in Stockholm, in which the creation of UNEP was agreed and 5 June was chosen to be World Environment Day on an annual basis. \u2018Only One Earth\u2019 was the motto for the 1972 conference and, 50 years later, it still holds true: this planet is our only home and it is the responsibility of the whole of humanity to protect its finite resources.<\/p>

    To this end, the Elecnor Group wishes to further the promotion of a sustainable workstyle with the Campaign Ayudando a Ayudar (Helping to Help<\/i>) which, in this year\u2019s event, seeks to invite all the employees at Elecnor to participate in the 2nd Environmental Ideas Competition<\/b>. There will be a prize for the employee or employees who, on behalf of their organisation within the Elecnor Group, submit innovative project ideas or innovative ideas for offices and warehouses<\/b>. With the aim of endorsing the slogan \u2018ONLY ONE EARTH\u2019, the participants\u2019 ideas should be initiatives that help to fight one of the three planetary crises:<\/p>

    • Climate Change: Project targeting reduction of the Carbon Footprint.<\/li>
    • Loss of biodiversity: Project targeting conservation of the planet\u2019s species.<\/li>
    • Generation of waste: Project targeting reduction \/ revaluation \/ recycling of the waste that we generate.<\/li><\/ul>

      In this framework, it should be noted that climate change has been a challenge and a strategic priority for the Elecnor Group for years: in 2014 the company started to calculate its carbon footprint and in 2018 it designed the first Climate Change Strategy; in 2020 it had already met the objectives proposed for reduction of GHG emissions, so in 2021 it presented the new \u201cClimate Change Strategy 2020-2035\u201d with the inclusion of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), which identifies and promotes innovative approaches to setting objectives for reducing emissions in accordance with science, by making the commitment to reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 38% and Scope 3 emissions by 18% in 2035.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
